Description
Five cottages stand at the end of a private tree lined drive, in a south facing hollow, The Roundhouse, Beech, Ash, Pond Meadow and Little Leighs have been converted from 18th Century farm buildings. The three acre grounds include attractive lawned gardens with picnic tables and barbecues, a large playing field with swings and a copse for the exercising of dogs.
Ash Cottage is the stone fronted cottage to the right of Beech and has a more conventional layout, with a double and a twin bedroom on the first floor and the main living/dining room, kitchen and shower room being on the ground floor. As with all the other cottages, Ash has an open fire in the living room, which keeps the whole cottage very warm no matter what the weather is like outside. The living room is furnished with cottage style armchairs and sofa with the obligatory television. The kitchen has oven, hob, microwave, refrigerator, washer/dryer and hopefully all the kitchen utensils you could possibly need for your stay.
The low beam which runs through Beech hallway continues across the dining area in Ash as do the lowish beams on the ground floor, where the peril level decreases from that of Beech, to those over 6’2”.
Ash Cottage is also rated at the top end of three stars by ETC and is suitable for couples through to families of up to four people. There is a small private garden with seating to the front of the cottage, where you can sit in the sunshine and enjoy the peace and quiet. This cottage is one of our two pet free cottages along with Pond Meadow.
This is a haven for walkers yet within a few minutes' drive of delightful North Coast beaches. Widemouth Bay and Crackington Haven are both within a short drive. Other places to visit along the coast are Boscastle, Tintagel, Port Isaac, Padstow and Clovelly. |

Crackington Haven (which takes its name from the cornish for 'cove of the little crag') is a coastal village in north Cornwall, England. It is situated near to St Gennys, Jacobstow, Otterham, Davidstow, and Boscastle and is one of over 250 towns or villages in Cornwall in which Go2 has cottages or holidays lets available. The nearest main cities are Plymouth (population 243,795), Truro (population 20,920), and Exeter (which has a population of 106,772 according to the 2001 Census).
Boasting a sandy beach when the tide is out (with shingle at the top) and some dramatic cliffs around the cove, Crackington Haven is popular with campers and walkers, but also with geology students who are attracted by the composition of the cliffs and rocks in the region.
